High-Resolution Aerial Photography

Low Oblique
Low-oblique images are taken by tilting the camera axis 15° to 30° from the camera's vertical axis. Notice that the horizon is not visible in low-oblique photographs.
High Oblique
The camera axis has a higher degree of tilt with high oblique photographs. The camera angle is intentionally inclined at around 60° from the vertical axis. The horizon is visible in high oblique aerial photos, and a larger land area can be photographed.

Vertical
The camera axis is in a vertical position, which means that the camera is pointed straight at the ground. This type of image is most often used in mapping. In mapping, many photos are taken in a grid pattern, and special software is then used to stitch them together to make one giant image.
